As Book Country Director, I led an incredible online writing and publishing community designed to help writers connect with each other, get feedback on their work, and publish.
I helped the community achieve tremendous growth. In a single year, membership more than doubled, social media reach increased by over 80%, and engagement increased by 40%. I established creative partnerships that connected and supported writers. I served as the primary business owner for a complicated site development and redesign. (The development work earned Book Country recognition, winning the Ektron Synergy Award for Best Site Integration.) I shared my expertise by speaking at Harvard Business School and the Digital Book World Conference. While I loved the challenge of lifting a start-up experiment into a business, the most fulfilling aspect of this role was working with writers as they set goals and accomplished their dreams.
